Next morning we woke up in Manali, we had only a single day for the excursion to the tourist spots in Manali though we knew we wouldn’t be able to cover all the places. We decided to strictly follow the ‘single day itinerary’ designed by my own travel company Cosmovision Tours Services Pvt. Ltd. so that we should cover maximum places in limited timeframe and also doesn’t over exhaust ourselves as next day in the morning we had to leave for Leh Ladakh. We started our journey at 8 AM from our hotel in Manali to Beas Kund which is around 20 Kms from Manali it took us an hour car drive to reach that place. Beas Kund is a famous tourist spot where one can reach by car or jeep or trekking. This holy lake is the place where Rishi Vyas took his daily bath moreover it is the origination point of River Beas. After spending an hour we returned back to Vashisht temple and spring just 6 kms from the main Manali. Vashisht temple is constructed in a conventional style with lot of wood carvings on the outer and inner walls. The hot spring nearby is believed to have therapeutic value.
From there we drove to Hadimba Temple, it is situated in old Manali with 3 kms steep climbing road. This ancient Hindu temple is said to be built in 1553 by Raja Bahadur Singh, the main temple’s chamber is covered by three tiered roof of wooden planks. It was almost 2 PM so we had our lunch in a nearby restaurant and then headed toward Jagatsukh. The Shikhara style built Shiva temple being its main attraction. This ancient temple was built during the 8th century. Then we headed to Naggar Castle in Manali around 4.30 PM, it is located in Naggar Town, in the middle of green forest hills. It was built in 1460 AD with a unique combination of European and Himalayan Architecture, in the year 1978 it was transformed into a heritage hotel. We stayed there till 7.30 PM and returned to our hotel for the night.
